Animal Crossing is a life simulation video game developed by Nintendo EAD and published by Nintendo. It was originally published for the Nintendo 64 in Japan in April 2001 however was ported to the GameCube later the same year. It was then released in other countries from 2002-2004. The player, having moved to a new village, must pay off their debt for their new home from the local shopkeep tanooki, Tom Nook. The player can earn money by selling fruit, fish, bugs and other goods found around the village to Tom Nook at his store. There is no time limit for repaying the loan, so the player can take their time paying it back (or not bother paying the loan off entirely and do whatever they please with no consequence). The player can also help out villagers with any problems they have in order to earn items or money to contribute to their loan repayment. Villagers will move out of the village if the player does not spend enough time with them or dissatisfies them in some way. Lots of customisation options are available both inside and outside of the home. Collecting and rearranging furniture within the home and planting trees and flowers around the village. The version held by the Centre is the Canadian Edition.
